Healthy Young Families Program
The Healthy Young Families Program encourages healthy child development by providing service throughout Lanark County to pregnant women and families with children aged 0 - 6 years.
Services include:
- Weekly clinics in Lanark and Carleton Place
- Nutrition Counselling
- Well baby, child and adult care, including immunizations
- Pre and Post Natal Care
- Individual and Couple Counselling in Lanark and Carleton Place
- Speech language services for children aged 0 - 5 years old
- Community Presentations and Workshops
Community programs include:
- Single Parents Saturday Support Group - A monthly mutual support group for single parents.
- Healthy Eating in Children - A healthy eating workshop for parents/caregivers of children 3-6.
We offer workshops in the community on topics such as Healthy Relationships, Making Your Own Baby Food and Children’s Environmental Health. These workshops can be given at your group, upon request.

We work together with other organizations and community groups on issues of concern to our community such as: poverty reduction, food security, healthy lifestyles for families and early childhood learning and development.
Our staff include: Community Developer; Dietitians; Nurse Practitioner (available to those without access to a health care provider), Social Work Counsellor and Speech Language Pathologist.
