COUNSELLING AND SUPPORT SERVICES

Our social workers and clinical health promoter offer counselling and support services and group programs to residents of Lanark County who are over the age of eighteen.

Our social workers help people develop skills to address the challenges they face and to build confidence in their own inner strengths and resources.

Individual and couple counselling are offered to help people find ways to cope with issues such as depression, stress, anxiety, grief and loss, persistent pain, parenting, childhood abuse, low self-esteem, relationships and marital problems. These issues may relate to a recent crisis or an ongoing unresolved problem.

We provide practical supports, advocacy and referrals on issues like housing, financial resources and crisis management.

Counselling and support hours: Monday through Friday with some evening clinics

Counselling is also available in Carleton Place through the Healthy Young Families Program

Community / Group Programs

We offer a range of programs for the community, including:

  • Changing By Choice - A six week program for smokers who want to quit.
  • Growing Together Through Yoga - A 10 week gentle yoga class.
  • Ruby Tuesdays - A support and discussion group for women.
  • Single Parents Saturday Support Group - A monthly mutual support group for single parents held on Saturdays.
